LEKHPAL DIARY

Privacy Policy & Disclaimer

Effective 13 August 2026 · Last updated 13 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Lekhpal Diary handles information when you use its case, task, document, GPS photo, report and export features.

Quick summary: Lekhpal Diary is primarily local and offline-first. Your records stay on your device unless you choose to export, share, print or back them up.

1. Privacy at a glance

Lekhpal Diary is designed as an offline-first case, task, document, report and field-work record-management app. Core records are stored locally on the user’s device. The current App does not require an account, login, app-operated cloud sync, advertising SDK or analytics SDK for its core workflow.

2. Information handled by the App

The App may handle profile preferences such as display name, language, theme and notification preferences; case records including reference numbers, names, subjects, mobile numbers, village/area, dates, priority, status, notes and history; tasks and reminders; documents, photos, scanned pages, PDFs and other user-selected files; GPS-photo metadata; and report text, drafts and exports.

3. How information is collected

Information is handled when the user enters it manually, captures it through camera/scanner, selects it from gallery or files, requests GPS-photo capture, uses voice input, or imports a selected backup. The App does not silently create case records or upload user content to an App-operated server.

4. Permissions

Camera access is used for case photos, document scans and GPS photos. Location access is used only for GPS-photo coordinates, accuracy and approximate place information. Microphone access is used only when the user starts voice-to-text for a report. Media/file access is used to select and manage user-chosen files. Notifications, exact alarms and boot-completed access support local deadline and task reminders. A permission can be refused, but its related feature may be unavailable.

5. Storage, retention and deletion

Core data is stored in App-local storage/database. Captured or imported files may be copied into local App document/download storage so they can be attached, previewed, exported or shared. Local records remain until deleted, app data is cleared, the App is uninstalled, a device is reset, or a user restores/replaces data. Shared/exported copies are controlled by the destination chosen by the user.

6. Backups

The App can create a portable local JSON backup. A backup can include case information and selected document, activity/history and GPS-photo metadata. The current portable backup is not an encrypted full-file archive and may not include original attached documents, original images, every task/checklist or every local report file. Users should secure backup files and retain essential originals separately.

7. Sharing, export and printing

When a user chooses Share, Export, Save, Open or Print, the App can send selected content to an Android share target, printer, file manager or storage provider chosen by the user. Such content may include personal information, documents, GPS coordinates, timestamps, notes or reports. External destinations apply their own privacy policies. Users must verify recipients and ensure that disclosure is lawful and authorized.

8. GPS photos and location

GPS Photo Capture can obtain latitude, longitude, accuracy, capture time, an approximate place name and an inspection note. Selected details may be permanently stamped on the saved image and stored in local metadata. GPS information may be inaccurate, delayed, unavailable or affected by device, network, satellite reception and settings. It is an aid to field documentation, not conclusive evidence of location, ownership, boundaries or legal status.

9. Voice input

When a user activates voice input, Android/device speech-recognition services may process audio to return editable text. Availability, language support, network use and accuracy depend on the device and applicable third-party service settings. Users should review their device speech-recognition privacy settings before speaking sensitive content.

10. Notifications

The App may schedule local case-deadline, task-reminder and optional productivity notifications. Notification text may reveal work details on a lock screen. Users can disable notifications through the App or Android Settings.

11. Network and third parties

Core records are not transmitted to an App-operated server in the current version. Device or third-party services may be invoked for functions such as Android speech recognition, location/geocoding, printing, file management or a sharing destination selected by the user. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. If a future release adds cloud sync, sign-in, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, AI processing or payments, this policy will be updated before or with that release.

12. Security

The App uses local Android storage and permission controls. Android automatic backup is disabled in the current Android configuration and cleartext network traffic is disabled. No system is completely secure. Users should use device lock protection, keep their device updated, restrict access to shared devices and protect backups and exported documents.

13. User choices and responsibilities

Users can manage their entries, permissions, theme/language preferences, notifications, local files and exports. Clearing app data or uninstalling can permanently remove local records. Users are responsible for having lawful authority, consent, notice and organizational approval before collecting, recording, photographing, storing, exporting or sharing personal, confidential, legal, land-record, government-related or location data.

14. Children

The App is intended for adult professional or personal productivity use and is not directed to children. Do not enter information about children or vulnerable persons unless you are legally authorized and have appropriate safeguards in place.

15. Changes

This policy may be updated when App functionality, legal requirements or data practices change. The latest date appears at the top of this page.

D. GPS, OCR, scanner and voice-input limitations

Users must review names, dates, reference numbers, land-record information, calculations, boundaries and legal language before relying on or submitting it.

E. Reports, PDFs and exports

Users are responsible for reviewing every export before saving, printing, sharing, filing or submitting it. Output can vary by device, Android version, printer, font support, storage provider and receiving application. The App does not guarantee compliance with an official format, statutory requirement, departmental template or evidentiary standard.

F. Data, backups and loss

Users are responsible for the accuracy, completeness, legality and currency of entered data. Devices can fail, be lost, reset, run out of storage or deny permissions. Create and verify backups regularly and retain originals separately. To the maximum extent allowed by law, the publisher is not responsible for loss, corruption, deletion, unauthorized access, inaccurate restoration or disclosure resulting from user actions, device issues, external apps or services.

G. Acceptable use and liability

Do not use the App to violate law or privacy rights, impersonate an authority, present App-generated material as officially certified, create misleading or fraudulent records, or process another person's information without lawful authority. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, records, profits, reputation or opportunity arising from use of or reliance on the App. Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
